Lumax Auto Technologies reported a strong performance in the second quarter of FY27, with net profit rising 57.5% year-on-year (YoY) to ₹105.5 crore, compared with ₹67 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

The company’ s revenue increased 34.5% YoY to ₹1,555.5 crore from ₹1,156.4 crore a year earlier. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) rose 32.4% to ₹204.7 crore from ₹154.6 crore in the year-ago quarter.

However, EBITDA margin edged down to 13.2% from 13.4% in the corresponding period last year.

Lumax Auto plans ₹150 crore mechatronics plant in Manesar

Separately, Lumax Auto Technologies plans to set up a new mechatronics manufacturing facility in Manesar, Haryana, with a capital outlay of around ₹150 crore.

The facility will manufacture electronic components, including body control modules, for leading original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). The investment will be funded through a combination of debt and internal accruals, stated the exchange filing.

The project is expected to be commissioned in two phases, beginning in the third quarter of FY28. Once operational at peak capacity, the facility is expected to generate annualised turnover of around ₹500 crore.

Lumax Japp Allied Technologies ceases to be subsidiary

The company also disclosed that the sale of its entire 50% equity stake in Lumax Japp Allied Technologies Private to Germany-based Japp Holding GmbH was completed during the current period.

The board had approved the sale on May 8, 2026. Following the completion of the transaction, Lumax Japp Allied Technologies ceased to be a subsidiary of Lumax Auto Technologies.

The company had recognised an impairment loss of ₹7.04 crore as an exceptional item in its standalone financial results for the year ended March 31, 2026, in connection with the proposed transaction.

Anmol Jain, managing director of Lumax Auto Technologies, said the company delivered another strong quarter despite a challenging operating environment, with revenue growth outpacing the broader industry and profitability improving on the back of broad-based demand across product categories.

For the first half of FY27, revenue grew 34% year-on-year, while profit after tax before minority interest increased 64%, Jain said. He attributed the performance to the scale-up of existing products and deeper penetration of the company’s value-added product portfolio.

Jain noted that automotive production continued to grow across vehicle segments in the September quarter, supported by improved affordability following the implementation of GST 2.0. However, rising input costs, including crude-linked polymer prices, higher costs and lead times for electronic components, freight expenses and rupee depreciation, remain key factors to watch.

Shares of Lumax Auto Technologies ended 0.53% lower at ₹1,807.70 on the NSE on Friday, October 23. The stock has declined 11.1% over the past month but remains up 12.5% so far this year.
