A quick drawing made during a creative brainstorming session could soon fetch a five-figure sum. The original pencil sketch behind MrBeast’s famous logo is heading to auction, with experts estimating its value at $20,000 or more. The artwork offers a rare glimpse into the early thinking behind one of YouTube’s most recognisable brands. However, there is an important detail for collectors to note: IGN has confirmed that Jimmy Donaldson, better known as MrBeast, is not involved in the sale. The auction puts the spotlight on how a simple design can become a valuable piece of internet history.
MrBeast’s original logo sketch could fetch over $20,000
The 8.5-by-11-inch pencil drawing will be offered through Heritage Auctions as part of its Fall Sports Catalog Auction, scheduled for October 23 to 25, 2026. The estimate of at least $20,000 reflects the creator’s enormous popularity and the cultural reach of his brand. The sketch dates back to around 2018, according to Heritage Auctions representatives, and reportedly took just 10 minutes to create during a brainstorming session. Today, the blue tiger logo appears across MrBeast’s online platforms, merchandise and chocolate brand.Yet the early artwork looks different from the familiar finished design. It shows the spotted big cat without the pink lightning bolt that later became part of the logo. The drawing also raises an amusing question about the animal itself. In an interview with Wired, Donaldson admitted that he had not spent much time thinking about the design.“even though that logo has probably been seen a hundred billion times, I actually put very little thought into it.”He also reflected on the childhood inspiration behind the image, saying, “When I was a little kid I just kind of designed a tiger, and here we are,” he said. “My name, my logo, probably should have had more thought behind it, I’ll admit it.”Donaldson has also acknowledged that he is unsure which big cat the logo represents. “I guess it’s kind of like a tiger,” he told Wired.
Why MrBeast’s logo matters to collectors
The auction highlights how internet culture is creating new kinds of collectables. Items linked to famous creators can carry value beyond their materials, especially when they document the beginnings of a widely recognised brand.MrBeast has built a huge audience through elaborate challenges, major cash prizes and philanthropic projects. His career has also expanded beyond YouTube, with his competition series Beast Games streaming on Prime Video. The show has been renewed for a third season. That success helps explain the interest in a seemingly modest pencil drawing. For collectors, the sketch offers a direct link to the early development of a brand seen by millions worldwide.Still, the $20,000 figure is an estimate, not a confirmed sale price. The final value will depend on bidding when the artwork reaches auction later this month.
