NEW DELHI: A day after Chhattisgarh Congress posted on social media pictures of BJP president Nitin Nabin having a meal with other party members in Andhra Pradesh and claimed he was consuming meat, BJP accused the party of putting out “fabricated and misleading” content due to its pique over repeated electoral defeats BJP has asserted that it was a vegetarian fare, refuting Congress’ claim that the governing party champions Hindu beliefs but its members were eating meat during the holy month of Sawan.BJP national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi slammed Congress, saying it has resorted to such “cheap antics” because it is mired in the despair of continuous poll defeats. The opposition party had similarly posted fake pictures involving BJP functionaries on Aug 15.“Driven by the frustration and anger over its defeat, it is now using its official social media handles to disseminate false, misleading and entirely fabricated posts,” Trivedi said. The Rajya Sabha MP said Congress’ conduct is not only condemnable politically and ethically but is also an extremely serious matter legally.
