New reality format India’s Future Investors to focus on financial decision-making

Financial decisions are moving beyond traditional business media, with a new reality format seeking to bring investing and money management into mainstream entertainment.

India’s Future Investors (IFI), planned for 2027, will put contestants through challenges involving earning, managing and protecting money, with the format focusing on decision-making under time and financial constraints.

The show is being developed at a time when financial content has expanded across podcasts, YouTube and short-form video, alongside the traditional business television and print ecosystem.

IFI’s premise is centred less on market predictions and more on how individuals respond to risk, losses and changing information. Contestants will not deploy their own investment capital, according to the organisers, and the format is not structured around stock tips or investment pitches.

The first season is planned with 15 contestants, seven Money Challenges and 14 episodes. Participants will be selected through a virtual financial-awareness quiz, followed by a video submission and live auditions.

“Financial knowledge is important, but knowing something and acting on it under pressure are not always the same thing,” said Mahek Tomer, Creator and Founder of India’s Future Investors.

JioHotstar has been named the OTT streaming partner. The organisers have also said the initiative is supported by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India.
