The Nifty 50 ended lower on Tuesday, September 1, amid a weak trading session as selling pressure weighed on the benchmark index. The index closed at 24,055.80, down 24.60 points or 0.10 per cent, compared with the previous close of 24,080.40. During the session, the Nifty 50 touched an intraday high of 24,143.15 and a low of 23,952.55.
Market breadth remained weak, with 30 stocks declining against 20 advancing. The trading volume stood at 3,342.08 lakh shares with a traded value of Rs 27,996.05 crore.
