India has granted a limited two-year exemption to four Chinese power equipment manufacturers with production facilities in the country, allowing them to participate in government tenders for critical power infrastructure projects. The approval applies to TBEA Energy, Nanjing Electric India, New Northeast Electric India and Taikai Electric (India), and is restricted to these companies alone. The government has clarified that the decision should not be treated as a precedent for other firms seeking similar exemptions.
