Praj Industries shares gain 8% after strong Q1 results beat estimates


Shares of Praj Industries gained nearly 8% on Friday, August 14, after the company reported a positive June quarter.

Its revenue was in-line with estimates while its profits and margins were above Bloomberg estimates.

The company’s profit after tax increased 118.87% to ₹11.6 crore from ₹5.3 crore in the orevious year. It was also 84.13% above the Bloomberg poll’s ₹6.3 crore.

Its revenue from operations came in at ₹715.8 crore, up 11.84% from last year’s ₹640 crore and up 2.26% from Street estimates of ₹700 crore.

The company’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) declined 3.85% to ₹30 crore from ₹31.2 crore last year but was 6% more than Bloomberg estimates of ₹28.3 crore.

Its EBITDA margin contracted to 4.19% from 4.88% in the yeat-ago period. However, it expanded from Bloomberg poll’s 3.67%.

Its other income increased 131% to ₹19.9 crore from last year. The same was higher due to insurance claim with regards to losses arising form a fire incident at the holding company’s Urwade premises in March 2025.

The company’s bio energy and HiPurity segment led the growth. Meanwhile, its engineering segment’s revenue declined 4% from last year.Praj Industries’ order inflow was at ₹1,000 crore and order backlog wzs at ₹4,589 crore.

Within India it witnessed a 40.99% suege to ₹538.6 crore from ₹382 crore, while outside India it declined 31.4% to ₹177 crore from ₹258 crore last year.

Shares of Praj Industries were trading 7.5% up at ₹345.6 apiece at 11 am on Friday. The stock has gained 8.1% this year, so far.
