For the past couple of days, after returning from the UK, Meghan Markle, Prince Harry and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, have been enjoying some ‘we time’ away from their everyday life. The family of four was spotted in Portugal enjoying the sunny beaches together, and the photos sent everyone down memory lane to family vacations that the Duke of Sussex used to go on with his mother, Princess Diana. Along with Portugal, the family also travelled around the UK and visited Princess Diana’s childhood home in Althorp.

Earlier this week, the Duchess of Sussex shared a series of photos from their vacation time in Portugal on the beach, which many believed resembled popular photos of Princess Diana on her own family vacation in 1993. Markle had shared photos of the family on the beach, in which she watched over her husband and their children as they played and ran around in the water.The family photos shared an uncanny resemblance to Princess Diana’s vacation in 1993, when she, along with Prince Harry and Prince William, who had been mere children at the time, enjoyed the waters at the island of Nevis in the Caribbean. Princess Diana was known for her down-to-earth and playful nature, and was often photographed and spotted on vacation with her family.In another photo from 1990, the Princess of Wales vacationed in the British Virgin Islands with her sons and their friends. Some photos showed her having fun with her children; one showed her allowing her sons and their friends to bury her in the sand.

Many other photos of Meghan and Prince Harry’s vacation showed instances of the couple having fun with their two children. In one of the photos, the Duke of Sussex flipped his daughter into the air while they were in the pool as the camera captured the moment only seconds before she fell into the water. Another shot, possibly taken in Althorp, also showed a glimpse of Harry’s uncle, Charles Spencer, and his wife, Cat Jarman.Another photograph taken by Markle showed Lilibet, Archie and Harry walking across the green estate. While Lilibet walked right in front of her mother, Prince Harry and Archie were seen walking a little ahead in the photos, holding flowers.It was reported that during their Althorp visit, the family of four had visited Princess Diana’s final resting place. The princess was laid to rest in one of the island’s parks, specifically at the centre of an ornamental lake known as The Round Oval.Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s visit to the UK was also fruitful as King Charles and Queen Camilla met Archie and Lilibet for the first time in four years.
