According to the company, the order reinforces its growing role in manufacturing advanced, mission-critical components for land defence systems. It also supports PTC Industries’ long-term strategy of expanding into larger and more complex defence components, assemblies and sub-systems.
PTC Industries said the development order marks another milestone in its contribution to India’s defence manufacturing ecosystem. The company added that it is currently engaged in several strategic development programmes across the defence and aerospace sectors and continues to support projects of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs) and other key defence manufacturing organisations.
The company said the order builds on its ongoing development and supply of critical cast components for the M777 ultra-lightweight towed howitzer programme for BAE Systems. It added that the latest order further expands its engagement with indigenous artillery gun platforms.
As per the regulatory disclosure, the contract involves the development, manufacturing and supply of two major artillery gun components. The order is to be executed within nine months, while the contract value has not been disclosed due to strategic and confidentiality considerations. The company also said the order has been awarded by a domestic entity and is not a related-party transaction.
