Quantum Mutual Fund has introduced the Quantum Flexi Cap Fund, an open-ended equity scheme that will invest across large-cap, mid-cap and small-cap stocks. The New Fund Offer (NFO) is currently open for subscription and will close on September 11, 2026.
Quantum Flexi Cap Fund: Key details
The fund aims to generate long-term capital appreciation by building a diversified portfolio across companies of different market capitalisations. Its performance will be measured against the BSE 500 TRI.
Investors can choose between Direct and Regular plans, with only the Growth option available under both plans.
The minimum investment for a lump sum is ₹500. For SIPs, investors can start with ₹100 for daily SIPs, while the minimum amount is ₹500 for weekly, fortnightly, monthly and quarterly SIPs.
The scheme falls under the ‘Very High’ risk category as per its riskometer.
What is the investment strategy?
As a flexi cap fund, the scheme does not have to stick to a particular market-cap segment. The fund manager can move between large-, mid- and small-cap stocks depending on where attractive investment opportunities emerge.
The fund will particularly look for businesses that could gain from major changes taking place across industries. These changes could be driven by new technology, mergers and acquisitions, changing consumer behaviour or government policy and regulatory developments.
The idea is to identify companies that are well placed to benefit from such shifts and have the potential to grow significantly over the long term.
GARP strategy to guide stock selection
Quantum Flexi Cap Fund will follow the Growth at a Reasonable Price (GARP) investment approach. Under this strategy, the fund will look for companies with sustainable earnings growth, sound corporate governance and valuations that are considered reasonable.
This approach aims to balance a company’s growth potential with the price investors are paying for its shares.
Who will manage the fund?
The scheme will be managed by Chirag Mehta, Chief Investment Officer and Fund Manager at Quantum Mutual Fund. Mehta also manages schemes including Quantum Gold ETF, Quantum Ethical Fund and Quantum Small Cap Fund.
He holds a CAIA (Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst) qualification along with a Master’s degree in Finance. Ketan Gujarathi will also be associated with the scheme as co-fund manager.
Why could investors consider the fund? The fund’s strategy offers investors exposure to companies across different market-cap segments rather than limiting investments to a single category. Its key focus areas include:
Investing in businesses that could benefit from major industry changes.
Flexibility to invest across large-, mid- and small-cap stocks.
Using the GARP approach to identify companies with growth potential at reasonable valuations.
Leveraging Quantum Mutual Fund’s experience across sectors and different market cycles since 2006.
No past performance record
Since the Quantum Flexi Cap Fund is a new scheme, there is no historical performance data available for investors to assess. Investors should therefore carefully understand the scheme’s investment strategy, risk level and suitability before putting money into it.
Those unsure about whether the fund fits their financial goals or risk appetite may consider taking advice from a qualified financial adviser.
