RVNL secures ₹242 crore order from South Central Railway


Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. (RVNL) secured two railway infrastructure orders worth nearly ₹1,002 crore from NMDC Ltd. and West Central Railway on Friday, May 22.

In an exchange filing, the company said it received a Letter of Acceptance from NMDC for a ₹758.07 crore contract related to the development of a railway siding near Padapur village.

The scope of the project includes construction of bridges, PWD road diversion, associated civil works, feasibility and detailed project reports, detailed engineering, execution and project management consultancy services.

The company said that the contract is to be executed over a period of 36 months.

Separately, RVNL also emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for a West Central Railway project worth ₹244.33 crore.

The project involves design, modification, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of traction substations and switching posts for the upgradation of the electric traction system from 1x25kV to 2x25kV in the Itarsi–Shridham section of Jabalpur Division to support a 3,000 MT loading target.

The West Central Railway project is scheduled to be completed within 18 months.

RVNL said both contracts were awarded in the normal course of business and do not fall under related-party transactions.

Shares of RVNL are trading 0.8% higher after the announcements at ₹273.1. The stock is down 11% over the last one month and trades well over 50% below its all-time high of ₹647 that it surged to back in 2024.
