Sai Life Sciences shares gain 5% to hit fresh record high


Shares of Sai Life Sciences Ltd gained 5% on Tuesday, September 8, to hit an intraday and fresh record high of ₹1,657.20 apiece

The company’s shares have risen almost 84% in 2026, so far, with the stock surging past 94% over the trailing 12 months. The stock was also the biggest gainer on the Nifty Pharma sectoral index.

Over 8 lakh shares of the company exchanged hands at intraday with the stock at 0.89 times its 10-day average volume.

The pharmaceutical company is valued at ₹35,031.75 crore. According to the latest shareholding data available on the stock exchanges, promoter entities held 34.53% of its total shares, while public shareholding comprised 65.47%.

The company’s management had told CNBC-TV18 in June that the shift in global pharmaceutical supply chains is likely to create additional opportunities for the firm and the broader Indian CDMO industry.

The shift gained momentum after the US Department of Defense added Chinese biotech major WuXi AppTec to its updated list of Chinese military companies.

The move had raised expectations that global drugmakers could accelerate supply-chain diversification towards India, benefiting local CDMO firms.Sai Life Sciences works with 19 of the world’s top 25 pharmaceutical companies and expects larger outsourcing mandates to start contributing during the current financial year.
