Saksoft shares fall 8% after Q1 profit, margins drop from last year


Shares of Saksoft fell over 8% on Friday, August 7, in reaction to the company’s June quarter results.

The company’s earnings declined across all parameters in the first quarter.

Its profit fell 9.5% to ₹29.29 crore in the June quarter from ₹32.35 crore in the same period last year.

Its revenue fell marginally 0.2% to ₹248.62 crore from ₹249.07 crore.

The company’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) came in 0.9% lower at ₹45.4 crore from ₹45.83 crore in the first quarter last year.

Its margins also contracted marginally to 18.3% from 18.4% in the year-ago period.

Here’s how Saksoft’s various business segments fared during the quarter:

Revenue from the BFS segment stood at ₹73.5 crore from ₹73.8 crore in March and ₹77.3 crore last year.

Revenue from the logistics segment stood at ₹40 crore, from ₹37 crore last quarter and ₹34 crore last year.Emerging Vertical saw revenue of ₹112 crore, compared to ₹115.4 crore last quarter and ₹118 crore last year.

Commerce vertical saw revenue of ₹23.53 crore from ₹22.5 crore last quarter and ₹19.6 crore last year.

Shares of Saksoft fell 8.2% to hit an intraday low of ₹161.11 apiece on Friday. The stock was down 7.55% at ₹162.3 apiece at 2.45 pm. It has fallen 17% this year, so far.
