Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: Indian equities open optimistically. Crude oil down 5%. Nifty bulls eye 23,800, 24,000. Key week for earnings, US Fed decision. Watch Bank of Baroda, IDFC First Bank.
Crude oil prices are down over 5%, although still above $90 a barrel. All through last week, the Nifty bulls found a way to protect 23,800 on the downside, a level they will look to reclaim right on market open this morning, followed by the 24,000 mark.
This week is possibly the most significant for the month and the quarter, not just for India but also globally. Nearly 200 companies in India, including at least 10 Nifty 50 names report numbers this week, as do the Big Tech companies in the US.
The other most important trigger for the week is the US Fed interest rate decision. Bond yields continue to remain elevated despite some easing in tensions in West Asia. This, followed by the monthly F&O expiries for both Nifty and Sensex contracts. For the Nifty Bank, 57,000 and 57,500 will be the levels to watch on the upside.
Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, IDFC First Bank, AU Small Finance Bank, BEL are some names to keep an eye on today.
