The start of a new series also marks the end of the May series for the BSE contracts. 24,000 remains the key level for the index with the bulls failing to defend that on Tuesday.

Even as the Nifty Bank underperformed on Tuesday, it managed to hold on to 55,000, which remains key to watch. On the upside, Tuesday’s high of 55,536 is the level to cross for the bulls.
