Actor Shanaya Kapoor is said to be exploring opportunities in the south film industry with an interesting project.The ‘Tu Yaa Main’ actor is reportedly preparing to make her Telugu film debut with the sequel to the 2021 zombie comedy ‘Zombie Reddy’.The sequel will reportedly feature Shanaya opposite Teja Sajja, whose recent successes with ‘HanuMan’ and ‘Mirai’ have boosted his star value.
Shooting has already begun
According to reports, Shanaya has already completed a brief shooting schedule for the film. Deccan Chronicle quoted, “She has been sensible to choose a zombie comedy, and one opposite an actor who is still rising in the ranks, rather than doing a film opposite a big star and getting lost in the frame. Things are tough for these young actors who are already overexposed with their numerous media postings. Telugu cinema could well be testing new waters for her.”
Shanaya Kapoor’s earlier association with ‘Vrushabha’
This is not the first time Shanaya has been linked with a South Indian film. Earlier, she was announced as part of Mohanlal‘s multilingual project ‘Vrushabha’, directed by Nand Kishore and backed by Ekta Kapoor’s production house.The film was planned as a pan-India release in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada. Shanaya had even participated in the initial phase of filming and announced the completion of her first schedule on social media.Sharing an update from the sets at the time, she wrote, “And it’s a wrap as we conclude the first shooting schedule of #Vrushabha ” According to reports, Shanaya eventually stepped away from Vrushabha because of date-related issues before production was completed.The reported ‘Zombie Reddy’ sequel now appears set to become her first Telugu release if the project proceeds as planned. Shanaya Kapoor was most recently seen in the survival thriller ‘Tu Yaa Main’ which received good reviews from the audiences.
