The share was 24% in August 2024, indicating an increase in the contribution of systematic investment plans (SIPs) to equity mutual fund flows over the two-year period.
SIP assets under management (AUM) also rose to ₹18.62 lakh crore in August 2026, up 23% year-on-year (YoY). SIP AUM accounted for 30.7% of equity mutual fund AUM during the month, up from 27.4% in August 2024, also a two-year high, the report said.
Monthly gross SIP sales increased 14% YoY to ₹32,297 crore in August, while the number of SIP accounts rose 12.1% YoY to 10.75 crore.
Aggregate SIP flows for the 12 months ended August 2026 stood at ₹3.7 lakh crore, up 17% YoY.
The report said monthly SIP flows have increased from ₹19,187 crore to ₹32,297 crore in less than three years.
Overall mutual fund industry AUM grew 15.8% YoY in August 2026, while equity and hybrid fund AUM increased 18.5%. Passive fund AUM rose 27.2% during the period.Gold ETF and Silver ETF AUM increased 2.6 times and 3.3 times, respectively, over the year. New fund offers (NFOs) collected ₹7,110 crore in August, the highest monthly collection in the preceding 11 months, according to the report.
