The Connectivity segment remained a key growth driver, with revenue rising 69 per cent year-on-year to USD 5.2 billion. Operating income for the segment increased 99 per cent to USD 2.4 billion, supported by enterprise adoption and growth in Starlink services.

The Super Intelligence business also reported strong growth, with revenue surging 830 per cent year-on-year to USD 7.6 billion. The segment recorded an operating profit of USD 431 million, compared with an operating loss of USD 1.7 billion in the year-ago period.

Tesla-SpaceX merger under consideration

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk discussed the possibility of a merger between Tesla and SpaceX during the company’s quarterly earnings call on Tuesday.

Asked about the idea of combining the two companies, Musk said, “Do I think it would be a good idea? Yes,” according to the remarks provided in the source text.

“The special committees have not reached agreement on terms of any transaction and there’s no guarantee that they will,” Musk added.

“But I do think there is a lot of merit to merging and a lot to be gained,” he said.

Elon Musk says USD 1 trillion revenue could come earlier

Following SpaceX’s third-quarter results, Musk indicated that the company’s long-term revenue ambitions could be achieved earlier than previously anticipated.

After reporting a 161 per cent year-on-year increase in revenue to USD 14.6 billion, Musk reposted an earlier forecast that SpaceX could generate about USD 1 trillion in annual revenue by 2030.

He added that reaching the milestone “is no longer impossible” by 2028.

Paytm founder Vijay Shekhar sharma reacts

Paytm founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma also reacted to SpaceX’s third-quarter performance and Musk’s revenue projections.

Responding to a Yahoo Finance post highlighting Musk’s view that SpaceX’s annual recurring revenue (ARR) could reach between USD 500 billion and USD 1 trillion by the end of 2027, Sharma wrote, “That’s the highest ARR I’ve ever heard.”

He added that while the target appeared extraordinary, “Elon being Elon, this may not be far-fetched.”

Sharma also remarked on the shift from discussions about half-a-trillion-dollar valuations during the dot-com era to the possibility of half-a-trillion dollars in annual revenue.

SpaceX’s latest results showed revenue of USD 14.6 billion and net profit of USD 4.4 billion for the third quarter of 2026, alongside Musk’s comments on a potential merger with Tesla and the company’s long-term revenue targets.
