Startup Policy Forum: ‘DeepVerse’ to drive DeepTech Innovation across 10 sectors, highlight areas for action


The Startup Policy Forum (SPF) has launched its Centre for DeepTech Innovation, “DeepVerse” to bring together startups, investors, government stakeholders, global technology companies and academia to accelerate India’s deeptech ecosystem through ecosystem collaboration, policy dialogue and research.

The platform’s work will span ten focus sub-sectors, namely Biotech, Quantum Tech, Semiconductors, Drones, Spacetech, Defence Tech, Electric Vehicles (EVs), Advanced Manufacturing & Robotics and Cleantech & Energy.

Welcoming the move, Secretary with the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MEITY) S. Krishnan stressed on the need for a strong, multi-stakeholder approach to grow India’s deeptech ecosystem. DeepVerse aims to bring together members across three tiers, Deep Core, Deep Circle and Patrons, to contribute industry insights to policy consultations and drive its initiatives.

Deep Core includes: Accel, Airbound, Ather Energy, Avaana Capital, Bessemer Venture Partners, Cars24, Crane Ventures, Dayananda Sagar University, Digantara, Endiya Partners, Intel, Iron Pillar, Lightspeed, Speciale Invest, and \ Stride Asset Management

Deep Circle includes: Alteon, Aspera, Beenext, Gabit, General Autonomy, Meta, Newtrace, Pronto, River and Yulu

Patrons include: CarDekho Group, Global Education Lab, Sarvam, Scaler and SQ1

    DeepVerse aims to take forward the work of #100DesiDeepTechs, which was developed with MeitY Startup Hub, Startup India (DPIIT) and IIT Madras, which was formally launched at TiECON Delhi in October 2025. Over the course of 8 months, SPF hosted several “Deeptech Baatcheet” sessions in innovation hubs including Delhi and Bengaluru.

A release by SPF indicated that “Advisory Board members chaired in-depth dialogues with founders on regulation, access to capital, talent, and global expansion” during these sessions, adding that “DeepVerse gives this work a permanent home.”SPF represents over 75 of India’s leading new-age tech companies, with a combined valuation of over $100 billion. Its members span fintech, deeptech, consumer tech, healthtech, edtech and emerging technologies and include Groww, Zerodha, Razorpay, Pine Labs, Sarvam, Emergent, CRED, Meesho, Invideo, Digantara, Airbound, Snabbit, Pronto, Cars24 and others.
