Rolling the cameras as a filmmaker, Stephen Chow has returned with an action-comedy to the silver screen. ‘Kung Fu Soccer’ revolves around the Emei Women’s Football Team, who are ready to fight for the ‘Supreme Invincible Cup,’ according to Variety. Starring Zhang Xiaofei, Dilraba Dilmurat, and Lay Zhang Yixing, the film is open to the global market in different languages, including English, Japanese, Thai, Cantonese, Korean, and Mandarin. However, the release date is yet to be announced by the production team. “Most football films ask, ‘Can they win the match?’ A Stephen Chow film asks, ‘Can they win the match while breaking the laws of physics?’ That’s the magic of ‘Kung Fu Soccer’ – a film that blends imagination, action, heart, and comedy in a way only Chow can,” the managing director of the production team, Joyce Lee, said in the statement, adding that the actor-director is one of the rare jewels who has entertained the audience across cultures for decades.
