Stocks to Watch Today, August 6: Indian benchmark indices are likely to see stock-specific action on Thursday, August 6, amid a busy earnings season and a host of corporate developments. Companies including Brigade Hotel Ventures, Biocon, Whirlpool of India, Orkla India, Aurobindo Pharma and Aster DM Healthcare reported their June quarter results.

While Gland Pharma, Bharti Airtel, NHPC, NBCC, Smartworks Coworking Spaces, Ola Electric and others announced key business updates. Shares of Clean Max Enviro Energy Solutions will also remain in focus as the shareholder lock-in period ends.

Q1 PAT jumps 140 per cent

Brigade Hotel Ventures reported a 140 per cent YoY rise in Q1 consolidated PAT to Rs 17 crore. Total revenue during the quarter increased to Rs 131 crore, reflecting strong operating performance.

Biocon

Profit rises 53 per cent in Q1

Biocon posted a 53.36 per cent YoY increase in Q1 consolidated net profit to Rs 136.8 crore. Consolidated total income for the quarter stood at Rs 4,390.5 crore.

Q1 profit falls 30 per cent

Whirlpool of India reported a 29.57 per cent decline in Q1 consolidated net profit to Rs 102.88 crore. Total expenses rose 16 per cent YoY to Rs 2,656.89 crore.

Profit, revenue grow in Q1

Orkla India reported an 11.12 per cent YoY rise in Q1 net profit to Rs 87.7 crore. Revenue from operations increased 10.4 per cent to Rs 659.1 crore.

Q1 earnings beat estimates

Aurobindo Pharma reported a 25.2 per cent YoY rise in Q1 net profit to Rs 1,033 crore. Revenue climbed 16.3 per cent YoY to Rs 9,150 crore.

Profit slumps 81 per cent

Aster DM Healthcare’s Q1 net profit plunged 81.2 per cent YoY to Rs 16.1 crore, while revenue increased 21.6 per cent to Rs 1,311 crore, supported by business growth.

Gland Pharma and Neuland Laboratories entered a long-term strategic CDMO partnership to expand sterile API manufacturing capacity and strengthen pharmaceutical production capabilities.

Sees room for tariff hikes

Bharti Airtel sees scope to increase tariffs on lower-priced unlimited data plans, according to a senior company official, signalling potential improvement in telecom sector revenue.

NHPC

Seeks higher borrowing limit

NHPC will seek shareholder approval to increase its borrowing limit to Rs 70,000 crore from Rs 60,000 crore at its AGM scheduled on August 28.

NBCC

Wins Rs 780 crore RBI order

NBCC secured a Rs 780 crore contract from the Reserve Bank of India to construct an office complex and staff quarters in Andhra Pradesh.

Smartworks Coworking Spaces

Leases 1.41 lakh sq ft

Smartworks Coworking Spaces leased 1.41 lakh sq ft of office space from Bharti Real Estate in New Delhi to expand its managed workspace network.

PE investors trim stake

Elevation Capital and Peak XV Partners sold a combined 2.3 per cent stake in Meesho for Rs 1,949 crore through open market transactions, partially monetising their investment.

Signs battery storage MoU

Ola Electric signed an MoU with Axis Energy to explore deployment of up to 20 GWh of battery energy storage systems by 2032, boosting clean energy ambitions.
