Stocks to watch today, August 3: Maruti Suzuki, ITC, Indian Oil Corporation and National Aluminium Company will be in focus on August 3 after reporting their June-quarter earnings. Investors will also track monthly auto sales from Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Hyundai Motor India, Mahindra & Mahindra and Eicher Motors.

Separately, HFCL secured a Rs 523 crore export order, Zee Entertainment is evaluating legal options after a SEBI order, while Vodafone Idea, Coal India, Tata Steel, Zydus Lifesciences and Container Corporation also announced key corporate developments likely to influence stock-specific action.

Profit slips despite record revenue

Maruti Suzuki reported a 10.8 per cent decline in Q1 profit to Rs 3,352.1 crore, while revenue surged 35.9 per cent to Rs 52,455.7 crore. Separately, July total sales jumped 33.7 per cent, led by strong domestic demand.

ITC

Earnings decline on weaker revenue

ITC posted a 27.1 per cent fall in quarterly profit to Rs 3,578.8 crore as revenue, excluding excise duty, declined 14.4 per cent to Rs 16,907.6 crore.

Swings to quarterly loss

Indian Oil reported a net loss of Rs 2,661.3 crore against a profit a year ago, despite revenue climbing 36 per cent to Rs 2.62 lakh crore during the quarter.

Profit nearly doubles

National Aluminium Company posted a 90.9 per cent jump in profit to Rs 2,003.1 crore, while revenue rose 39.3 per cent to Rs 5,302.4 crore.

Healthy earnings growth

Concord Biotech reported a 32.8 per cent rise in quarterly profit to Rs 58.5 crore, with revenue increasing 26.2 per cent to Rs 257.5 crore.

Back in the red

Urban Company reported a loss of Rs 92.12 crore versus a profit last year, even as revenue surged 43.9 per cent to Rs 528.3 crore on continued business expansion.

HFCL

Bags Rs 523 crore export order

HFCL secured export orders worth USD 54.81 million (around Rs 522.7 crore) for supplying optical fibre cables, strengthening its international order book and telecom equipment business.

Evaluating legal options

Zee Entertainment said it is seeking legal advice after SEBI barred the company from the securities market for two months in the Hyderabad land pledge case.

Eyes Rs 10,000 crore monetisation

Lodha Developers plans to sell 150 acres at its Mumbai-region data centre park over the next three to four years, targeting nearly Rs 10,000 crore through asset monetisation.

Commercial vehicle sales accelerate

Tata Motors’ commercial vehicle sales rose 37 per cent in July to 39,641 units, driven by a 28 per cent increase in domestic volumes and a sharp 128 per cent jump in exports.

EV sales more than double

Tata Motors’ passenger vehicle sales climbed 59 per cent in July to 63,760 units. Electric vehicle sales surged 114 per cent to 15,217 units, highlighting strong EV demand.

Exports hit milestone

Hyundai Motor India’s July sales rose 25.4 per cent to 75,360 units. The company also recorded its highest monthly exports in over 100 months with 21,150 units shipped.

Sales cross one lakh

Mahindra & Mahindra’s total automotive sales increased 25.8 per cent to 1,03,860 units in July, while domestic passenger vehicle sales rose 20.4 per cent to 60,048 units.

Royal Enfield maintains momentum

Royal Enfield recorded a 34 per cent rise in July sales to 1,18,232 units, led by 38.1 per cent domestic growth, while exports increased 10 per cent year-on-year.

UK EAF project on track

Tata Steel said its UK operations expect electricity access for the 3.2-million-tonne electric arc furnace by 2029, adding that construction remains on schedule.

Faces DoT demand notice

Vodafone Idea received a Department of Telecommunications notice seeking Rs 26.83 crore in liquidated damages over alleged shortfalls in spectrum rollout obligations from the 2022 auctions.

July output rises 8.4 per cent

Coal India reported an 8.4 per cent year-on-year increase in July production to 50.36 million tonnes.

USFDA inspection cleared

Zydus Lifesciences received an Establishment Inspection Report from the USFDA for its Ahmedabad injectable facility with a Voluntary Action Indicated (VAI) classification following inspection.

New CMD appointed

Container Corporation of India appointed Ajit Kumar Panda as Chairman and Managing Director with effect from August 1, 2026, strengthening the company’s leadership team.
