Actor and former Lok Sabha MP Sumalatha extended her support for the Yash starrer ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups’ amid the film receiving a mixed response from the audience. Praising the Rocking Star’s performance in the film, she urged him not to worry too much about the negative talk around the film.
Sumalatha praises Yash’s performance in ‘Toxic’
Sumalatha took to her Instagram handle where she wrote, “My dear Yash, Just watched Toxic and wanted to tell you this. I always knew you were fearless, and that you would choose to tread your own path rather than follow anyone else’s. But in this movie, what stood out for me above everything was you. Your performance was outstanding — truly mind-blowing.”Talking about Yash she called him “one of the smartest and sanest people” and hoped he must be taking in the negative talk around the film “with a pinch of salt.”Sumalatha wondered if ‘Toxic’ was simply a film that was ahead of its time. She also felt that some parts of the film may have been misunderstood or judged unfairly.“Perhaps Toxic is simply far ahead of its time. Or perhaps parts of it have been misunderstood or unfairly judged by those who are uncomfortable with what you have become…or might become yet. Success like your will attract all kinds of jealousy too. But I know you are not one to care for that.”
Yash will bounce back, says Sumalatha
She further shared that she has no doubt that the ‘KGF’ star will overcome everything, emerge bigger and stronger. She wrote, “Whatever it is, I have absolutely no doubt that you will overcome all of it and emerge bigger and stronger. You will hit the ball right out of the ground again — I have no doubts about that. For now, take a bow. Kudos to you for the sheer effort, conviction and hard work that have gone into this. Don’t stop now… or ever. Keep rocking. I will always be watching with love and immense pride. Sending you lots of hugs.”In her post, Sumalatha always talked about the filmmaking aspects of ‘Toxic’. She called the movie a “vibrant visual spectacle” and said the film was an important milestone for Yash and director Geetu Mohandas.

Speaking about the film, directed by Geetu Mohandas and co-written by Yash and Geetu, it features Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth and Tara Sutaria in important roles.The film was released on August 26 in multiple languages.
