Suzlon Energy shares fall nearly 4% after ₹134 crore large trade; Stock below key moving averages


Shares of Suzlon Energy Ltd. fell as much as 3.6% on Thursday, September 24, in response to multiple large trades that took place in the stock.

According to data available, as many as 3.2 crore shares of Suzlon Energy, or 0.23% of the outstanding equity, changed hands in the large transaction.

Shares changed hands at an average price of ₹41 per share, taking the total transaction value to ₹134 crore.

This is the third straight day of losses for shares of Suzlon Energy. The stock has declined in nine out of the last 12 trading sessions.

Buyers and sellers in the block deal are not officially known yet.

At the end of the June quarter, promoters of Suzlon Energy had a 11.71% stake in the company, while 88.29% belonged to public shareholders.

India’s Mutual Funds have a 6.47% stake among the public shareholders as per the BSE shareholding pattern for the June quarter. Motilal Oswal Manufacturing Fund’s name features in the list of prominent shareholders, with a 2.88% stake.

Multiple Vanguard funds have a 3% stake in the company.As many as 54.6 lakh small retail shareholders, or those with authorized shareholding capital of up to ₹2 lakh, had a 25.15% stake in the company, while over 3,700 large retail shareholders, or those with capital of over ₹2 lakh, had a 13.72% stake.

Shares of Suzlon Energy had made a high of ₹86.04 on September 12, 2024, and since then, the stock is down over 50% from those levels.

12 analysts have coverage on Suzlon Energy, of which 10 have a “buy” rating on the stock and two have a “hold” rating. No analyst tracking the stock have a “sell” rating on the stock. The consensus estimate of price targets implies an upside potential of 53.5% from current levels.

Shares of Suzlon Energy are trading 3.3% lower on Thursday at ₹41. The stock is down 22% so far in 2026. The stock trades below all key moving averages.
