The feature is available to delivery partners across more than 720 cities through the Swiggy Partner app, the company said on Thursday. The payout is expected to be credited within an hour of placing the withdrawal request.
Under the feature, delivery partners can go to the ‘Easy Cashout’ section under the Earnings page of the Swiggy Partner app and check their available cashout balance. They can then enter the amount they want to withdraw and select ‘Cashout Now’.
The facility allows partners to access earnings during the week instead of waiting for the scheduled weekly payout, according to Swiggy.
Saurav Goyal, Chief Operating Officer, Food Marketplace, Swiggy, said the company introduced the feature after feedback from delivery partners who wanted access to their earnings outside the weekly payout cycle.
Swiggy said its delivery-partner network has more than 6.5 lakh members.
The feature could be relevant for gig workers whose income is received periodically but whose day-to-day expenses may arise before the scheduled payout date. However, the company has not disclosed whether any fee or other charge applies to Early Cashout, or whether there are limits on the amount or frequency of withdrawals.Swiggy’s latest facility is part of a broader set of initiatives for its delivery partners. Details such as the minimum eligible balance, maximum cashout amount and whether the facility is available to all partners or subject to specific eligibility conditions were not specified in the announcement.
