The accused appeared in court for a plea hearing via video link from Bronzefield prison on Monday, August 3, 2026. Without being represented by legal counsel, she pleaded not guilty to her charges. “As I’m not represented, I am happy to give a plea today even though I am not represented,” she said, per The Independent. Carrington was reportedly wiping her tears throughout the hearing and was later placed in custody. Victim’s family members shook their heads while the court read out the plea.
