UCO Bank’s Rajendra Kumar Saboo to continue as interim MD & CEO for three more months

UCO Bank Q1 Update: Total business up 15.46%, advances up 21% YoY

The government has extended Rajendra Kumar Saboo’s additional charge as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of UCO Bank by another three months, the state-owned lender said on Tuesday (August 25).

Saboo, who is currently an Executive Director at UCO Bank, will continue to hold the additional charge beyond August 31 and until November 30, 2026, according to an exchange filing.

His tenure could end earlier if the government appoints a regular MD & CEO or issues further orders.

The extension was communicated by the Department of Financial Services under the Ministry of Finance through a letter dated August 25.

Saboo has been running UCO Bank on an interim basis since June, when he was given additional charge of the top job in the absence of a full-time MD & CEO. The latest order means that arrangement will continue for up to another three months.

The bank said Tuesday’s decision was in continuation of its June 19 disclosure announcing Saboo’s appointment to the additional role.

UCO Bank shares closed at ₹26 on the NSE on Tuesday, up 0.42% from the previous close.
