Upper Circuit Stocks: Baazar Style Retail shares jump 5% after ₹163 crore block deal


Shares of Baazar Style Retail Ltd. opened 5% higher and are locked in an upper circuit on Monday, August 17, after witnessing a large trade in the pre-market block deal window.

As many as 45 lakh shares worth ₹163 crore of Baazar Style Retail changed hands at ₹362 per share in the block deal window, according to the data available.

Sources told CNBC-TV18 that investor Aditya Halwasiya was the buyer in the block deal. Information on the seller in the transaction remains unknown.

At the end of the June quarter, promoter and promoter entities of Baazar Style Retail held a 45% stake in the company while 55% was held by public shareholders.

As per data available on the exchanges, Aditya Halwasiya’s name does not feature in the list of public shareholders of Baazar Style Retail as of June 30.

Last month, Baazar Style Retail, in its June quarter business update stated that its first quarter revenue increased 29% to ₹486 crore. Its same store sales growth (SSSG) stood at 7%.

Meanwhile, it opened 18 stores, closed five outlets. This took its total store count to 276.Shares of Baazar Style Retail are trading in a 5% upper circuit at ₹383.5. The stock is up 42% so far this year. With this move, stock is nearing its issue price of ₹389.
