Waaree Clean Energy Solutions is building a specialty gases plant at GIDC Saykha, Dahej, Gujarat, as it develops a domestic supply network for high-purity process gases and chemicals used in semiconductor and solar cell manufacturing.
The company said India’s expansion in chip and electronics manufacturing under the Semicon India 2.0 programme is driving the requirement for these gases and chemicals, which are still largely imported. WCES said its specialty gases business is being developed to provide domestic supply across India.

The business will be built in phases. The plans include specialty gases warehousing, with multi-purpose storage and handling infrastructure designed to semiconductor-grade safety and purity standards.
Waaree Clean Energy Solutions will also set up a dedicated ultra-high-purity ammonia purification unit for semiconductor-grade ammonia and a phosphine/hydrogen (PH₃/H₂) mixing plant for precision gas blends used in doping and deposition processes.
The planned portfolio will also include UHP oxygen, while UHP hydrogen is already commercially available.
Beyond gases, Waaree Clean Energy Solutions will design custom gas and chemical supply systems and nitrogen plants. Its Total Gas & Chemical Management System will cover storage, delivery, safety monitoring and inventory management, allowing customers to focus on their core processes.

The company’s UHP portfolio will include silane, ammonia, nitrous oxide, phosphine mixtures, boron trichloride (BCl₃), trimethyl aluminium, diborane, germane/H₂ mixes, hydrogen bromide (HBr), sulphur hexafluoride (SF₆), nitric oxide, fluorinated gases and calibration gases.
Waaree Clean Energy Solutions said the full portfolio will be backed by pan-India supply. The new business builds on Waaree Clean Energy Solutions’ existing clean energy manufacturing base, which includes its electrolyser stack facility.
According to the company, government incentives are expanding semiconductor and solar cell manufacturing capacity, and the specialty gases business is designed to grow alongside this capacity while providing manufacturers with an alternative to imports.
