Waaree Renewable Technologies sets up new subsidiary for data centre business


Waaree Renewable Technologies Ltd on Monday (September 14) said its wholly owned subsidiary, Waaree Green Data Centers Private Ltd, has incorporated Aurovault Data Centers Private Ltd as a wholly owned subsidiary on September 14.

Aurovault Data Centers will operate in the data centre business, with Waaree Green Data Centers holding 100% of its share capital. The newly incorporated company has a turnover of nil as it has yet to commence business operations.

Aurovault’s objects include establishing, developing, designing, financing, constructing, owning, leasing, operating, maintaining, managing and commercialising data centres, hyperscale data centres, artificial intelligence-ready data centres, edge data centres, disaster recovery centres, cloud infrastructure facilities, digital infrastructure parks and colocation facilities in India and abroad.

The company will also provide services including colocation, managed hosting, cloud connectivity, internet exchange, network services, disaster recovery, business continuity, data storage, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence infrastructure, GPU hosting and high-performance computing.

Waaree Green Data Centers will subscribe to the memorandum of association of Aurovault Data Centers through cash consideration. The filing said no government or regulatory approvals are required for the incorporation. The incorporated company is based in India and was established on September 14, 2026.

Last month, Waaree Renewable Technologies Ltd said it has received a Letter of Award (LoA) for an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) project involving 291 MWp of solar capacity and a 280 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS).

The order has been awarded by an Indian thermal power generating company and is a domestic commercial order. The project is scheduled to be completed during FY28, according to the company’s regulatory filing.

The order covers EPC work for a ground-mounted solar PV project of 291 MWp along with 280 MWh of BESS. Waaree Renewable did not disclose the financial value of the contract in its filing, with the order size specified in terms of the solar and storage capacity.

Shares of Waaree Renewable Technologies Ltd ended at ₹837.00, up by ₹2.90, or 0.35%, on the BSE.
