On Friday, the Miami Hurricanes fans woke up to the news that their star running back, Jordan Lyle, was arrested for reckless driving on Thursday on South Florida.
Miami fans had a lot of hope for Lyle this season, but that is now in jeopardy following the arrest. And fans are worried about what happens next for the team.
Further compounding their worries are rumors that Cam Vaughn, their up-and-coming wide receiver, is set to be cut from the roster. An old report about wide receiver’s purported arrest resurfaced and went viral. However, it is fake.
Over the last 24 hours, hundreds of concerned fans have posted on social media about Lyle’s arrest and the viral reports that Cam Vaughn was also cut. Despite there being no confirmation about Vaughn’s departure yet.
Is Cam Vaugh Really Leaving?
The former West Virginia wide receiver Cam Vaughn’s future has been subject to intense speculation. A lot of fan accounts and college football rumor accounts are putting out the claim that Cum Vaughn is set to be cut from the Miami Hurricanes roster this season. Turns out, there is truth to the rumors.
College football news outlet NCAAF reported Friday that CanesInSight insider Danny Hernandez a.k.a. D-Money said Cam Vaughn’s future in Miami is indeed “in doubt” and the team is discussing internally about moving him on.
However, as of now, the “process continues without a conclusion”, the report states, and Cam Vaughn has not formally been cut from the Miami roster yet. In fact, his last social media post last month showed him in Miami all set to play, having only joined in January this year from West Virginia.
Fans Worried Over Dual Impact Of Cam Vaughn And Jordan Lyle
In the 2025 NCAA college football regular season, Cam Vaughn recorded 35 receptions for 541 yards with four touchdowns in 12 games for West Virginia. Lyle, meanwhile, has been a veteran for Miami, having been a key part of the 2024 and 2025 seasons. Last season, the RB recorded 35 carries for 108 yards with one touchdown, despite being injured for a part of it.
The potential double departure out of Miami has many Miami fans worried.
