Welspun arm signs agreement for ₹7,300 crore Pune-Shirur highway project


Welspun Enterprises Ltd.on Monday said its wholly owned subsidiary, Welspun Pune Shirur Projects Ltd. (WPSPL), has signed a sub-concession agreement with the Maharashtra State Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd. (MSIDC) and the Government of Maharashtra for a ₹7,300 crore highway project in the state.

The agreement, executed on July 13, 2026, follows the letter of award the company received on April 30, 2026, Welspun said in a regulatory filing.

The project involves the construction of a six-lane, partially elevated highway corridor, along with the upgradation of the existing road from Km 10+600 to Km 64+000 on the Pune-Shirur section of NH-753F in Maharashtra.

The minimum design length of the project is 53.40 km.

The project will be executed under the Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer (DBFOT) (Toll) model.

According to the filing, the sub-concession period is 29 years, including a four-year construction period from the appointed date, subject to extension in accordance with the terms of the agreement.

Earlier, on May 14, the company reported a strong set of fourth-quarter earnings, aided by improved operational efficiencies, healthy execution and robust infrastructure order inflows.

Welspun posted a consolidated net profit of ₹145.2 crore for the March quarter, up 44.8% from ₹100.3 crore in the corresponding period last year. Revenue rose 13.8% year-on-year to ₹1,200 crore from ₹927 crore, while EBITDA increased 29.2% to ₹239.3 crore from ₹185.3 crore a year earlier.

Managing Director Sandeep Garg had said the company expects 15-20% revenue growth going forward, supported by a consolidated order book of nearly ₹20,000 crore, including ₹5,000 crore from operations and maintenance projects.

Shares of Welspun Enterprises ended 0.16% higher at ₹615 on the NSE on July 13.
