This is its biggest single-day gain for the stock since May 20, 2022 when the stock had risen 17.23%.
The company’s order book now stands at a record $4.4 billion or ₹42,100 crore after the large order win.
The execution of the order is slated for financial year 2028-2029. It also signals long-term growth in the North American energy infrastructure market.
Brokerage firm Nuvama said it may have to upgrade its current estimates by 15%-20%. As of July 2026, Nuvama’s EBITDA estimates were ₹3,796 crore for financial year 2028 and ₹4,308 crore for financial year 2029.
The Welspun Corp management said the order is related to the Permian Basin for the export of liquefied natural gas (LNG). It said capacity augmentation and debottlenecking would be undertaken as required.
It said its EBITDA is directionally headed towards ₹5,000 crore in the next three to four years.
The company’s EBITDA has consistently increased over the last couple of years. In FY25, it reported an EBITDA of ₹1,858 crore, in FY26 it reported ₹2,371 crore and for FY27 it has estimated an EBITDA figure of ₹2,850 crore.
Welspun Corp’s net cash has also increased over the years. In FY24, it was at a negative ₹387 crore which then reversed to a positive ₹1,049 crore in FY25, ₹1,627 crore in FY26 and to ₹2,336 crore in the first quarter of FY27.
The company said its first quarter net cash position is after capex of ₹834 crore.
Welspun Corp’s Return on Capital Employed (RoCE) has also seen a steady increase from 20% in financial year 2024 to 23.1% in the first quarter of financial year 2027.
Shareholding of promoter entities in Welspun Corp has remained largely stable at 49.73% in June from 50% in June 2024. Foreign institutional investors have increased their investment to 14.61% from 10.51%, while domestic institutional investors have increased their investment to 19.96% in June 2026 from 9.74% in June 2024.
As of June 2026, Authum Investment & Infra held 5.31% stake in the company, LIC held 4.71%, Quant Small Cap held 1.95%, Fidelity Securities held 1.9%, Aditya Birla’s was 1.69% and Smallcap World held a 1.48% stake.
Shares of Welspun Corp are still trading with gains of 14% on Friday at ₹2,278. The stock has risen 180% so far this year.
