Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on September 17 that the fourth instalment of ₹3,000 was reaching the bank accounts of around 1.5 crore women.
For beneficiaries who have not received the September instalment, the West Bengal government’s Annapurna Yojana portal provides a “Track Applicant Status” facility. The portal asks users to enter their registered mobile number and captcha to access the status.
What is the Annapurna Yojana?
The Annapurna Yojana is a West Bengal government scheme that provides ₹3,000 per month to eligible female residents of the state between the ages of 25 and 60. The official state government page says a beneficiary must not be in permanent government employment, be an illegal immigrant or be an income-tax payer.
The scheme’s mandatory documents include an EPIC or Voter ID card, Aadhaar card and an active mobile number. Applications can be submitted through the designated government offices or online through the state Social Registry.
What if ₹3,000 has not been received?
The first step is to check the application status on the official Annapurna Yojana portal using the “Track Applicant Status” option. The portal is operated by the Government of West Bengal and is designed and maintained by the National Informatics Centre.
The September 17 announcement does not mean that every beneficiary’s credit necessarily appeared in the bank account at the same time.Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari said on September 17 that the benefit had reached the accounts of most of the 1.58 crore beneficiaries for the September instalment and that the remaining transfers would be completed by the end of the day.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also said the government’s objective is to ensure that no eligible woman is deprived of the Annapurna Yojana benefit.
Therefore, if the September ₹3,000 has not appeared in the account, beneficiaries can first check their application status through the official portal and use the information shown there to determine the next step.
