A burger with a pineapple slice inside it is enough to make anyone stop and take a second look. That is exactly what happened when a food vlogger visiting Panchkula came across this unusual combination and questioned the vendor about it. But the bigger surprise came next: this was not a new food experiment. The vendor said he had been serving the pineapple burger since 2015.The fruit is not simply added to the burger as it is. It is caramelised and paired with a crispy tikki, cheese, sauces, cucumber and chaat masala, giving the burger a combination that is quite different from the usual options.
The question behind the unusual burger
While visiting the food outlet, the food blogger noticed the pineapple and asked the vendor, “Bro, what is this pineapple doing in a burger shop?”The vendor said the recipe took around four to five months to develop and that he began making the burger in 2015.He also said that pineapple burgers had been made in foreign countries for a long time and that they were prepared with red meat there.“I am the only one making this in the whole of India. 2-4 people are probably copying. But I’ve been making it since 2015. This has been going on for a long time in foreign countries. They make it with red meat,” he said.
How the pineapple burger is prepared
The burger starts with a homemade flour bun. The vendor said he makes the bun using his own recipe and does not use stabilisers or unnecessary chemicals.Green sauce, liquid cheese, onions and cheese slices are added to the bun. A crispy tikki fried in groundnut oil goes in next, followed by a homemade tandoori sauce made with curd. The pineapple is caramelised separately before being added. Cucumber and chaat masala complete the burger.
What did the vlogger think?
After trying it, the food vlogger described the burger as “one of the rarest burgers one might find”.He also called the taste “outstanding” and said he felt the burger was worth the price. The vendor claimed that it has remained a best-seller at the outlet since 2015.
