WPIL Q1 profit jumps 53% as higher sales boost earnings


WPIL Ltd reported a 53% rise in consolidated net profit to ₹60.3 crore from ₹39.5 crore a year earlier, for the quarter ender June 30, 2026. Revenue from operations increased 32% to ₹500.4 crore from ₹378.58 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) climbed 53% to ₹75.3 crore from ₹49.2 crore, while the EBITDA margin expanded to 15.04% from 13.00% a year ago.

Total expenses increased 26.9% year-on-year to ₹444.3 crore in the June quarter from ₹350 crore a year earlier.

On a sequential basis, consolidated PAT declined 16.1% from ₹40.3 crore reported in the March quarter. Revenue from operations fell -2.09% from ₹511.24 crore, while EBITDA moderated 11.5% from ₹85.1 crore.

Total expenses declined 3% sequentially in the June quarter from ₹458.4 crore in the March quarter.

Separately, the pump manufacturer informed in June that Madhya Pradesh Jal Nigam had barred the company from participating in any of the state utility’s future tenders, procurement processes and bids. The prohibition comes over alleged delays in the completing contractual milestones in ongoing projects. As per WPIL, the debarment will remain in effect until the completion and commissioning of the ongoing contracts in question, or for 3 years, whichever happens first. The projects are under dispute, the company added.

At the time, the company noted that the order had no impact on its existing financial or operational activities and that it was contemplating legal remedies against it. WPIL’s overall standalone order book stood at approximately ₹2,508 crore as of December 31, 2025.

Shares of the company closed at ₹450.45 on Friday, up 1.79% or ₹7.90 from the previous close on the National Stock Exchange (NSE).
