1 Finance gets SEBI in-principle approval for MF Lite AMC licence

The Mumbai-based personal finance advisory firm is targeting a launch in the fourth quarter of FY27, subject to completing the required regulatory and operational formalities and obtaining SEBI’s final registration.

The proposed AMC will focus on passive investment products such as index funds and exchange-traded funds (ETFs). These schemes typically track an underlying index rather than rely on active stock selection by a fund manager.

The MF Lite framework provides a regulatory route for mutual fund schemes focused on passive investments. The in-principle approval is an initial step and does not, by itself, permit the company to launch mutual fund schemes.

Jeet Marwadi, co-founder and managing director of 1 Finance, said the proposed asset management business would complement the company’s financial planning services, with a focus on asset allocation, tax efficiency and disciplined investing.

The company said it would work towards meeting the applicable requirements for final registration before launching the proposed AMC.

1 Finance is a personal finance advisory and wealth-tech firm that said it has more than ₹17,000 crore in assets under advice (AUA).
