According to a notice issued by the Ministry of Finance on September 21, interested stakeholders can submit their requests for an appointment through the designated online form by October 10, 2026.
Applicants are required to provide the ‘Unique Memo ID’ generated after submitting their memorandum to the Commission.
The venue and detailed schedule for the interactions in Mumbai will be communicated subsequently.
The Mumbai visit is part of the Commission’s stakeholder consultation process. Earlier, the 8CPC had announced a visit to Bengaluru on October 7 and 8, inviting organisations and associations to seek meetings with the Commission. The deadline for requests for the Bengaluru visit was September 18.
The Commission has also modified its guidelines for engaging consultants. In an August 11 office memorandum, it said consultants would be engaged across three categories — Senior Consultant, Consultant and Consultant (Young Professional) — with maximum strengths of two, five and 16, respectively.
The revised eligibility criteria specify relevant experience of 10 years or more for Senior Consultants, six years or more for Consultants and two years or more for Young Professionals. The upper age limits are 45, 40 and 32 years, respectively, with August 1, 2026, set as the cut-off date. The 8CPC said candidates with qualifications in areas such as human resources or industrial relations, law, and technology/data analysis could apply, subject to the specified experience requirements. Candidates with experience relating to pay or emoluments structures, compensation packages and establishment matters would be given preference.
