PM Kisan alert: 23rd installment date fixed - money to hit accounts June 20

The Centre has fixed June 20, 2026, for releasing the 23rd installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme, bringing relief to millions of farmers awaiting the next tranche of financial support.

Under the flagship scheme, eligible farmers receive ₹6,000 annually in three equal installments of ₹2,000, directly transferred to their bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.

PM Kisan 23rd installment date confirmed

The government has announced that the next PM-Kisan installment will be credited on June 20, 2026, via DBT. The payment is aimed at helping farmers manage routine agricultural expenses and sustain farming activities.

The update comes after the release of the 22nd installment on March 13, 2026, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Guwahati. Authorities also highlighted on social media that the scheme continues to play a key role in strengthening farmers financially.

₹2,000 direct transfer to farmers

Each installment under PM-Kisan includes a ₹2,000 direct transfer, credited without intermediaries to ensure transparency and timely delivery.

Farmers can utilize the funds for:

  • Purchase of seeds and fertilisers
  • Farming equipment and inputs
  • Daily agricultural expenses

e-KYC mandatory to receive payment

The government has reiterated that completion of e-KYC is essential for farmers to receive the forthcoming instalment. Beneficiaries who have not completed the verification process may not receive the payment.

Farmers can complete e-KYC through the official PM-Kisan portal by entering their Aadhaar number and authenticating the process via OTP.

Multiple verification options available

To simplify the process, the government has provided three modes for e-KYC completion:

  • OTP-based e-KYC through mobile phones
  • Biometric e-KYC at Common Service Centres (CSCs)
  • Face authentication-based e-KYC through the mobile application

Farmers may choose any of the available methods.

Beneficiaries can track payment status

The status of instalment payments can be checked through the PM-Kisan website. Farmers need to select the “Beneficiary Status” option and enter either their Aadhaar number or bank account details to view the payment status.

Scheme continues to benefit crores of farmers

Government data shows that the PM-Kisan programme has reached crores of farmers across the country. Every instalment typically benefits around 9–10 crore farmers, making it one of the largest direct income-support schemes for the agricultural sector.

With the 23rd instalment scheduled for release later this month, millions of farming households are set to receive another round of financial assistance under the scheme.
