Insecticides India Q1 profit falls 24% as weak rainfall hurts sales


Insecticides (India) Limited reported a 24% year-on-year decline in consolidated profit after tax to ₹44 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, compared with ₹58 crore in the year-ago period.

Revenue from operations stood at ₹612 crore in Q1 FY27, down 12% from ₹691 crore in Q1 FY26. The company attributed the decline primarily to a rainfall deficit across India.

Gross profit declined 4% year-on-year to ₹193 crore from ₹202 crore. However, gross profit margin expanded to 31.6% from 29.2%, an improvement of 240 basis points, supported by disciplined pricing actions.

EBITDA fell 20% year-on-year to ₹68 crore from ₹85 crore, while the EBITDA margin stood at 11.1%, compared with 12.2% in Q1 FY26.

During the quarter, the company launched GRANUVIA, a next-generation insecticide, across India in collaboration with Corteva Agriscience. Spinoace was also introduced as part of the collaboration. KAEROS continued to expand its portfolio and distribution footprint during the quarter.

Insecticides India said it plans to double the number of IIL Crop Solutions plots from the current 36. The plots cover four major crops — rice, cotton, chilli and soybean — across 14 states. The company also conducted more than 3,600 farmer meetings, 1,400 demonstrations and 15,000 farmer visits during Q1 FY27.

Managing Director Rajesh Kumar Aggarwal said deficient rainfall impacted near-term revenue, while pricing discipline and operating efficiencies helped maintain stability in gross margins. The company said it remains focused on premiumisation, manufacturing, research, digital transformation, global partnerships, capacity expansion and backward integration.Share price: Insecticides India shares closed at ₹654.60 on August 11, 2026, up ₹4.80 or 0.74%.
