The MoU was formalised on August 28, 2026, at NHPC’s corporate office in Faridabad. It provides a framework for NBCC to undertake project management consultancy (PMC) services and specific infrastructure projects for NHPC on a deposit work basis.
Under the agreement, NBCC will handle various stages of project execution, including design, engineering, project management, procurement, construction, quality control, installation, commissioning, statutory compliances and handing over of completed projects.
The projects covered under the collaboration will primarily comprise buildings, structures and allied works. These may include residential blocks, residential and commercial infrastructure, office complexes and related facilities.
The two state-owned companies said the collaboration aims to support cost-effective and time-efficient execution while maintaining the required quality standards.
NHPC, a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Power, is primarily engaged in hydropower generation and related activities. NBCC, a Navratna CPSE under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, provides project management and infrastructure development services.
The MoU is intended to provide a structured framework for cooperation between the two CPSEs in executing NHPC’s infrastructure projects on a pan-India basis.
