Aster DM Quality Care Q2 results: Net profit more than doubles to ₹262 crore

Aster DM Quality Care reported a consolidated net profit of ₹262 crore for the second quarter of FY27, compared with ₹110 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

Revenue for the quarter rose to ₹2,829 crore from ₹1,197 crore in the year-ago period.

The company’s EBITDA increased to ₹664 crore in Q2 FY27, compared with ₹250 crore a year earlier. EBITDA margin also improved to 23.5% from 20.9% in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.

The company said its EBITDA growth was supported by strong performance from emerging units, which recorded a rapid turnaround through improved volumes and operational efficiencies.

The improvement in EBITDA margin was driven by operating leverage in material and other operating costs, supported by higher patient footfall, an increase in complex procedures and a favourable payor mix.

The company also reported a 12% year-on-year growth in total patient volumes during the quarter, led by its Neurosciences, Oncology, Orthopedics and Gastroenterology segments.

The company added 4,230 beds, taking its total bed capacity to more than 15,000.

Aster DM Healthcare incurred non-recurring expenses of ₹18.95 crore during the quarter ended September 30, 2026, towards professional fees and other costs related to the merger.

Such expenses stood at ₹133.33 crore for the six months ended September 30, 2026. These costs have been classified as exceptional items in the financial statements.

Commenting on the performance, Dr Azad Moopen, Executive Chairman of Aster DM Healthcare, said the company had completed its first 100 days as a combined entity after beginning operations as an integrated platform on July 1, 2026.

Moopen also highlighted the clinical milestones achieved during the quarter. CARE Hospitals, HITEC City, Hyderabad, received Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation, while MIMS Kasargod secured National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH) accreditation within a year of commencing operations.

Looking ahead, the company plans to expand its healthcare network, with the Aster Trivandrum project progressing towards commissioning. It will also continue to invest in clinical talent, advanced infrastructure and technology.
