AWL Agri’s Food & FMCG revenue crosses ₹2,000 crore as Q2 volumes grow 12%

AWL Agri Business reported 12% year-on-year volume growth and 24% revenue growth in the second quarter of FY27, led by strong performance in its Food & FMCG and Industry Essentials businesses.

The company’s Food & FMCG business recorded 33% year-on-year revenue growth, with quarterly revenue crossing ₹2,000 crore for the first time, according to its preliminary standalone business update for the quarter ended September 30, 2026.

Growth was broad-based across categories, with the Wheat and Rice businesses also reporting growth during the quarter.

Besan, Pulses, Soya Nuggets, Sugar, Sattu and Poha together accounted for more than 35% of the Food portfolio and recorded around 50% year-on-year revenue growth.

Fortune Pulses crossed ₹100 crore in quarterly revenue, with AWL expanding its distribution network across general trade and quick commerce.

Edible Oil volume growth remains steady

AWL’s Edible Oil business recorded 3% year-on-year volume growth, led by domestic oils including Mustard Oil and Rice Bran Oil.

The company said standardised pack sizes for edible oils, introduced by the government from September 2026, are phasing out grammage-based pricing practices in the industry.

AWL also said the government’s September 23 reduction in import duties on soyabean, sunflower and palm oil is expected to support consumption by improving affordability. It added that the move could help address competition from lower-priced packaged refined soybean oil imports from neighbouring countries.

Industry Essentials volumes rise 25%

The Industry Essentials business recorded 25% year-on-year volume growth, driven by Oleochemicals, Castor and De-oiled Cakes.

Alternate Channels, which include e-commerce, quick commerce and modern trade, also recorded double-digit growth. Within Food & FMCG, these channels grew 40% year-on-year.

Branded Exports recorded 59% volume growth, while the HoReCa business grew 21% during the quarter.

AWL also launched Fortune Yellow Mustard Oil during the quarter, while GD Foods, which operates the Tops brand, launched Chilli Oil and Multigrain Choco Flakes.

GD Foods reported more than 30% year-on-year revenue growth in Q2 FY27, while Omkar Chemicals, which focuses on specialty chemicals, recorded 16% volume growth.

AWL said the update is preliminary and covers its standalone performance. Detailed financial results and the earnings presentation will be released after board approval.
