CUET UG 2026 city change: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has acknowledged concerns raised by candidates of the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET UG) 2026 regarding allotment of examination centres located far from their preferred cities. The agency stated that it has received multiple representations highlighting inconvenience caused by distant allocations.In a recent update shared through its official communication channel, the NTA indicated that the issue has arisen due to a high concentration of candidates in select cities along with limited availability of Computer Based Test (CBT) centres. The agency added that it is actively reviewing the matter and exploring measures to reduce inconvenience for candidates.City allotment concerns under reviewThe NTA said it is examining the concerns and will provide an update within the next few days. Candidates have been asked to remain patient while the review process is underway. The agency reiterated that ensuring fairness and minimising disruption remain key considerations in the ongoing process.Earlier, the NTA had released an advance intimation regarding the allotment of examination cities for CUET UG 2026. The notification informed candidates about the city where their examination centre would be located, enabling them to make necessary travel arrangements in advance.Details of CUET UG 2026 examination scheduleCUET UG 2026 is scheduled to be conducted across multiple locations in India and abroad between May 11 and May 31, 2026. The examination will be held in CBT mode. The subject and language-wise schedule has been made available through the advance city intimation slip, which candidates can access using their login credentials.Candidates have been instructed to appear strictly on the date and shift allotted to them. The NTA clarified that requests for changes in examination date or shift will not be entertained. Entry to examination centres will be permitted only as per the details specified in the admit card.Important instructions for candidatesThe agency emphasised that the city intimation slip is not the admit card but serves as prior information about the location of the examination centre. The admit cards for CUET UG 2026 will be issued separately at a later stage.Candidates whose live photographs did not match Aadhaar records or who used alternative identity documents during registration must carry a duly attested certificate for verification at the examination centre.
