What is Delhi Lakshmi Yojana?
Delhi Lakshmi Yojana is the Delhi government’s proposed financial assistance scheme for women. Under the scheme, eligible beneficiaries will receive ₹2,500 every month, with the amount expected to be credited directly into their bank accounts.
The scheme was announced as one of the BJP’s key promises ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections and has now been renamed from Mahila Samriddhi Yojana.
Who is eligible?
According to the CMO Delhi, women aged between 21 and 60 years will be eligible for the scheme.
The CMO also said the government has finalised transparent eligibility norms to ensure that the benefits reach genuine beneficiaries. However, it has not yet released the detailed criteria, including income limits, residency requirements or exclusion conditions.
When will the scheme be rolled out?
The Delhi government is targeting a rollout around Raksha Bandhan.
An exact launch date has not yet been announced.
How will the money be paid?
