EMS emerges as lowest bidder for ₹1,908-crore Rajasthan water supply project


Ghaziabad-based EMS Ltd on Wednesday (August 19) said it has emerged as the lowest bidder for a water supply project in Kota, Rajasthan, with an estimated order value of ₹1,908.63 crore, including GST, the company said on Wednesday (August 19).

The Public Health Engineering Department of the Rajasthan government has awarded the L-1 status to the company for construction of a 100 million litres per day (MLD) water treatment plant near Shivaji Park and associated water supply infrastructure.

The project includes construction of an 800-kilolitre break pressure tank and a 10,665-metre clear water rising main using DI K-7 pipes ranging from 200 mm to 700 mm in diameter.

EMS will also develop distribution infrastructure in uncovered areas of the Shivaji Park water treatment plant zone covering Zones 12, 15 and 16 of Kota North Nagar Nigam, along with new water supply systems in Poonam Colony and J.P. Colony.

The scope also includes a 1,500-kilolitre clear water reservoir, a pump house and a 1,500-kilolitre overhead service reservoir near Jind Baba Mandir.

The project is part of the Water Supply Scheme for Augmentation of UWSS Kota-North in Kota district under AMRUT 2.0. The execution period is 24 months and the contract includes five years of operations and maintenance after a one-year defect liability period.

The Kota project comes a day after the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC ) firm disclosed that it had received the highest bidder (H-1) status for two NHAI user fee agency contracts. The contracts, for Rangamati Fee Plaza in Assam and Bartana Fee Plaza in Haryana, have a combined estimated value of ₹422.18 crore, excluding TCS.

The Rangamati contract is valued at about ₹223.06 crore and the Bartana contract at ₹199.13 crore, with both contracts carrying a one-year execution period.

EMS said the Kota project is subject to the receipt of the Letter of Award.

Shares of EMS ended 4.91% higher at ₹394.20 on Wednesday, compared with the previous session’s close. The company’s stock has declined 8.99% year-to-date and 28.41% over the past year. The stock has, however, gained 3.39% in the past week, 24.20% over three months and 26.73% over six months. Over two years, the stock is down 54.01%.
