IRCTC Q1 Results: Profit stays flat despite 18% revenue growth; margin contracts

Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) reported a nearly flat net profit for the first quarter of FY27 on Wednesday, even as revenue grew strongly during the quarter. Profit after tax stood at ₹330 crore, marginally lower than ₹331 crore reported in the same quarter last year.

Revenue from operations, however, rose 18.1% year-on-year to ₹1,369.5 crore from ₹1,159.7 crore a year ago, pointing to healthy topline growth despite the subdued bottom line.

The pressure was more visible at the operating level. EBITDA declined 2.7% year-on-year to ₹386.7 crore from ₹397.3 crore, while the EBITDA margin contracted sharply to 28.2% from 34.3% in the year-ago quarter.

Ahead of the earnings announcement, shares of IRCTC closed at ₹510.75 on the NSE, down 0.83%, or ₹4.30, from the previous close. Also Read: Apollo Hospitals Q1 profit surges 38% on higher inpatient volumes, occupancy growth; beats estimates
