Analysts have recommended subscribing to Jio Platforms’ upcoming initial public offering (IPO), citing its dominant position in India’s telecom market, potential for average revenue per user (ARPU) growth and expansion across broadband, enterprise technology and artificial intelligence (AI).
The company’s large subscriber base, in-house technology capabilities and ability to introduce new digital services are among the factors supporting the positive outlook. However, execution risks, regulatory developments and capital expenditure requirements remain key factors to monitor.
Jio Platforms IPO: What is driving the bullish outlook?
Jio Platforms’ scale in India’s telecom market is a key pillar of the investment case. The company had 533.3 million subscribers as of June 2026 and accounted for around 60% of the country’s wireless data traffic. It also had India’s largest spectrum bank, at 26,800.8 MHz.
Global investment banking firms and research firms have highlighted Jio’s plans to strengthen its digital connectivity business by moving more 2G users to 4G and 5G networks, expanding home broadband and generating revenue from its proprietary technology platforms.

PhilipCapital said Jio had transformed India’s telecom landscape since its launch in 2016 through disruptive pricing and differentiated offerings.
The company’s financial performance has also supported the positive outlook. Between financial year 2015-16 (FY16) and FY26, Jio Platforms’ revenue increased to ₹1,46,885 crore, while earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) reached ₹73,400 crore. This translates into an EBITDA margin of around 50%.
Beyond telecom: Broadband, enterprise services and AI
Jio is looking to expand beyond mobile connectivity by scaling its home broadband and enterprise technology businesses and developing AI-led services. It is also pursuing bundled offerings that combine over-the-top (OTT) entertainment, cloud storage, gaming and AI-based services with telecom plans.
Home broadband is a key growth opportunity, given India’s relatively low fixed broadband penetration. Penetration stood at around 21% in FY26 and is projected to reach approximately 46% by FY31.
As of June 2026, Jio had 28.6 million fixed broadband customers, including 14 million JioAirFiber subscribers. JioFiber and JioAirFiber are positioned to benefit as more households adopt high-speed internet services.
The company has also developed an end-to-end proprietary 5G standalone technology stack and filed 7,220 patent applications spanning 4G, 5G, 6G, AI and digital technologies.
SMC Global Securities said Jio’s in-house technology capabilities provide a competitive advantage by supporting innovation, improving operational efficiency and giving the company greater control over its digital infrastructure.
Jio Platforms IPO: Price band and valuation
The proposed price band of ₹1,065-1,119 per share values Jio Platforms at a post-issue market capitalisation of approximately ₹9.8 lakh crore to ₹10.3 lakh crore.
The IPO is expected to raise ₹28,800 crore to ₹30,200 crore. Of this, around ₹27,500 crore is earmarked for the prepayment of borrowings taken by Reliance Jio Infocomm, while the balance, capped at 25% of the gross proceeds, is intended for general corporate purposes.
PhilipCapital said the potential for tariff-led earnings growth, organic ARPU expansion and new digital-service revenue streams could support earnings growth, adding that the valuation offered sufficient headroom for compounding.
Emkay Global described the issue as reasonably priced, citing Jio Platforms’ market leadership, pricing power, growth opportunities and execution track record. It also pointed to the potential benefits as cash generation strengthens with the 5G investment cycle winding down.
SBICAPS said the IPO valuation reflects the company’s scale, earnings growth, technology capabilities and long-term monetisation potential. It added that the proposed repayment of borrowings could reduce leverage and finance costs, strengthen cash flows and provide greater financial flexibility for future investments.
While analysts see multiple growth levers beyond mobile connectivity, Jio Platforms’ ability to convert its scale and technology investments into sustained revenue growth will remain important to its long-term performance.
