SRINAGAR: A terrorist killed in Friday’s encounter in a forest area of Budgam district of Kashmir has been identified as a Pakistani national.“You can run but you can’t hide! The terrorist neutralised during Op Ashdar has been identified as Yasir, a Pakistani national of Lashkar-e-Taiba,” J&K Police said in a post on X Saturday.Police sources believe Yasir was part of an LeT network operating in central Kashmir. According to officials, he infiltrated into the Valley through Tulail sector in Bandipora district and later operated from the upper reaches of central Kashmir and areas south of the Pir Panjal range. He had been on the radar of security forces since 2024, they said.Yasir was also suspected of involvement in several deadly attacks in J&K since 2024.He was killed in a gunfight during a joint search operation by the Army, J&K Police and the CRPF in Ashdar Gali, Budgam.
