The fund attracted participation from high-net-worth individuals, ultra high net worth individuals, family offices, corporate treasuries and institutional investors. KMAMC said the final corpus is higher than the initial target, reflecting increased investor participation in private credit strategies.
According to the company, the fund has deployed over 50% of its corpus across multiple sectors and will continue investing in performing credit opportunities for established corporates and promoters.
Nilesh Shah, Managing Director of Kotak Mahindra AMC, said the close of the fund marks a milestone for the firm’s alternatives business and reflects investor confidence in its execution.
He noted that private credit is expected to gain relevance in India’s financing ecosystem as demand for alternative funding sources increases.
Sunit Garg, Chief Investment Officer – Private Credit, said private credit is increasingly being used alongside traditional financing to meet evolving capital requirements of businesses. He added that the focus remains on performing credit with emphasis on risk management and predictable outcomes.
Kotak Credit Opportunities Fund is a SEBI-registered Category II AIF focused on structured credit investments in companies with established operating track records.
